Screen tents can be slightly more fragile than standard tents, but there is no doubt that they add an extra dimension to the camping experience. They are best employed in situations where the weather will not be too bad, although modern tent materials are able to withstand more rain and wind than many realize. The screens, although fragile, are quite easy to repair and keep going.

The modern style of dome tent makes it easy to include a screen, as the light materials have a similar texture and feel. The dome tent is the ideal choice for someone coming into camping and tent use for the first time, because they are light, easy to carry, and easy to erect. Be careful, though, as not all dome tents are easier to erect than the old style of frame tent. Make sure you choose the right model. If you are camping as a group, you will find the putting up of the tent that much easier, and somehow the screen tent always seems to fit better with a happy gathering.

Screen tents are the norm when it comes to the type of marquee used in corporate entertaining. You don't, though, need to be in business to be able to hire and use a marquee. Many private functions such as weddings find them an ideal way to secure against bad weather, while still ensuring that the atmosphere is light and joyful. Marquees can be made to fit into just about any type of space, as some of them are brilliantly designed. They can also be combined together to form a larger unit, creating a larger area.

The only downside of having a screen in your tent is that it can make the tent more fragile. However, it is possible to repair this type of tent without too much trouble, extending its life considerably. It is at the seams and joins that most of the problems occur, and it is also there where the repairs can be carried out most easily. Simply use a needle and some fishing line to sew the screen back on to the tent, always making sure that any loose thread is cleared away first.

When you are choosing a screen tent, you need to see pictures. In days gone by, this would have presented a problem, as there were not really any pictures to be seen. No tent company could afford to print a lot of photographs in a newspaper ad, or even on local leaflet drops. You had to visit the store to see what you wanted. Now, everything is so much easier thanks to the Internet. You can see catalogs from all over the country, giving you the easiest way to choose your screen tent.
